THE BUILDING
At the beginning of the 19th century, the well-to-do
Baldasserini Family obtained a number of estates (over 300 hectares of land and various
houses) combining the beauty of the Tuscan countryside and the sea. The family history of
these estates is evidenced by an inscription on a tombstone in the old farmyard. Part of
the charm of this property is that some of the original buildings are still in existence,
the most important include the Master,s Villa, farmhouses and the little church. The Antico Borgo San Martino is a
significant and important example of Neorenaissance architecture; the estate is vast, with
large grounds, tall trees and typical plants of the area. The complex consists of the
Master's Villa where the small and exclusive hotel is located, surrounded by the ancient
farmhouses where apartments have been built. The apartments differ from one another in
order to maintain the ancient walls and the original designs.
A few steps away there is thePieve Vecchia, an old farm, surrounded by large
lawns and an olive-tree wood. The Farmhouse Complex is made up of separate buildings: the
Original Hayloft houses - small yet exclusive tavern and a few rooms; the Old Stable -
completely restored to house 4 modern apartments; the Ancient Farmhouse - restored
carefully to contain the majority of the apartments; and the fascinating Little Church. In
addition, a new part was built recently, featuring more apartments with typical Tuscan
style features. All restorations have been done respecting the original designs and
buildings, with fine materials in order to maintain the original aspect and the ancient
style.
Two kilometres away, closer to the sea, there is another independent farmhouse, recently
restored with the same style and standard, called "Il Pianetto", offering 5
apartments surrounded by green areas. Guests also benefit from all the facilities offered
by the Podere La Pieve Vecchia and Antico Borgo San Martino. Nearby you can reach the
characteristic town of Riparbella, the town centre of Cecina and the beaches of Marina di
Cecina. The complexes are ideal for the most demanding clientele offering excellent
facilities and complete relaxation. Facilities:
reception, tavern with typical courses of the tuscan cuisine, small children's playground,
barbecue, shopping room, unguarde car park. Other services like market, pizzerie,
pharmacies, bar, discos, ecc. in the towns nearby Sport:

telephone, safe, heating, rooms always with low beds and outdoor space equipped with table
